Online Topo Maps

A Tip from Nicholas

Use this link below and you can view any topo map in NZ. It is a real good site but needs broadband due to the amount of info it is processing.
It is the same as those topo map CD's but the whole of NZ and it's free, with way more options.
http://extranet.doc.govt.nz/bip/
Then click on NZ Map Service NZMG and accept the conditions and you are in. You need to zoom in to your chosen area and click the correct boxes on the left hand column -
Click NZ topography folder----- then NZ topographic Maps folder ------- then tick the NZMS 260 series box
There is heaps of other options such as aerial photos, public land boundary's etc
Thanks Nik.

Annual Measuring and Competition Night

Waikato Branch Annual Measuring and Competition Night - usually held in May.

This is the most popular event of the year where we have our trophy heads (antler, horn and tusk) measured and photography judged and if eligible can compete for the large number of cups and shields available.

Trophy heads must come from wild game animals taken legally under Fair Chase conditions and you must be a current paid up member when you pull the trigger or click the shutter.

Photograph competitions include several different trophies for categories such as Game Animals, Other Wildlife, Scenic, Flora and Human Interest.
