Each month a committee member or club member organises a hunt for deer and pigs to a suitable location where the team camps or stays in a hut or lodge, usually for a weekend but sometimes longer such as our annual chopper trips over three or four days to the Kaimanawas to hunt for Sika.

A local hunt for our younger members is usually planned each year for small game such as rabbits, possums and magpies and these can be weighed in at the end of the weekend where some great prizes have been won, many kindly donated by various sponsors.
